About Us
Women and Girl Child Development Association (WEGCDA) is a registered non-profit making, non-governmental, non-politically affiliated Indigenous organization that was started in 2008 and registered in December 2009 with the NGO Board. WEGCDA seeks to address issues that have long been adversely deterring women and girlsu2019 involvement in the development process.
To mobilize and empower women and girls both rural and urban to effectively participate in the development process.
Our Main Objectives!
To enhance and build capacities of girl child to critically analyze their situation and come up with practical, viable income generating activities.
To facilitate the creation of employment for women and girl children with an aim of improving their standards of living at house hold and community level.
To fundraise and solicit financial and technical support to promote women and girl child groups’ economic initiatives.
To advocate and initiate the process for removal of impediments those hinder education of women and girl children and carry out adult literacy in rural areas.
To serve and model small entrepreneurial skills development and encourage women and girl children to start to start small income generating projects
